Ice Navigation

Ice Advisory And Ice Piloting Services

We have been providing Ice Advisory services including Ice piloting since 1997. Our pilots hold Master Mariners certificates issued by their respective Government bodies; Canada, Finland, Russia and Latvia, and meet the requirements to serve as an Ice Navigator* in Arctic Waters. They are skilled professionals with an average of 30 years of extensive experience navigating in the ice infested waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Canadian Arctic and the Baltic Sea.

We take pride in providing comprehensive and reliable assistance and advice in all matters related to the vessel’s operations in extreme cold weather conditions. A successful voyage is not limited to safe ice navigation but also to ensure that your vessel arrives prepared to load or discharge without delays due to freezing spray or other complications that could delay cargo operations due to navigating in ice and cold weather.

A combined effort of the Master, Ice Advisor and Montreal Marine Services Inc. staff will insure a successful voyage.
